The Route 83 Corridor Plan was adopted by DuPage County on November 9, 2021.  The Plan is the result of collaboration between the County and corridor communities and includes land use, urban design, and transportation objectives and recommendations.

Welcome to the virtual home of the DuPage County Route 83 Corridor Plan! The purpose of this plan was to create a community-driven, action-oriented master plan that cohesively addresses issues and opportunities as they relate to land use and transportation along Route 83 (Busse Road) in DuPage County. The plan focused on the future of unincorporated areas in a way that reflects the needs and goals of property owners and adjacent communities.

To be successful, this plan required partnering with five communities that the Route 83 Corridor runs through in DuPage County — Wood Dale, Bensenville, Addison, Villa Park and Elmhurst, Illinois. Each of these communities were extensively involved in the process through dialogue, by sharing local and historical knowledge and they ensured engagement with residents, stakeholders and elected officials.

The plan incorporates and builds on existing community initiatives while addressing future goals, site-specific needs and CMAP’s On To 2050 Comprehensive Regional Plan.
